Julie Nottage
Julie has been practicing various forms of meditation, yoga, and qigong for over 15 years. Through yoga, she was able to stabilize an autoimmune disease. However, it was the practice of qigong, which allowed her body to fully heal and return to an active life. Julie has been studying Medical Qigong since 2001. She completed her Basic Wild Goose Teaching Certification with Dr. Bingkun Hu in January 2009, and continues her studies with Dr. Hu, working toward an Advanced Wild Goose Teaching Certification.
Julie has been a facility safety coordinator at NASA Ames since 2000. As part of her job she provides bi-monthly safety training to employees, safety training for visiting researchers, individualized safety assessments, ergonomic evaluations, and other training as required to maintain a safe working environment. During 12 years of conducting ergonomic evaluations, Julie has grown to appreciate how the flowing movements of qigong provide a wonderful counterbalance for our hectic lives. Julie has been on the Space and Earth Science Safety Committee since 2005, which deals with safety and health issues. Julie is passionate about helping people become pain free and safe at work so they can fully enjoy life.
