Mindfulness of the Body as a Gateway to Liberation
Spirit Rock Residential Retreat
Tuesday April 10, 2012 @ 3pm - Sunday, April 15, 2012 @ noon (5 nights)
Cost: sliding scale (scholarships are available)
Marcy will be co-teaching qigong at a 7 day Spirit Rock residential retreat this coming November with Bob Stahl and Mary Grace Orr. This retreat, suitable for both beginning and experienced meditators, will work primarily with the first of the Four Foundations of Mindfulness, that of mindfulness of the body. The 32 Parts of the Body meditation has rarely been taught in the West; you will be introduced to it from an insight perspective of the true nature and wonders of the body. This practice has also been used for healing illness and most importantly to help eradicate the erroneous view of self. Various methods will be taught to strengthen mindfulness of the body, and to explore the mind/body connection.
We will follow the usual format of an Insight Meditation (Vipassana) retreat, with periods of sitting and walking practice, as well as qigong sessions for further exploration of mindfulness of the body.
This retreat will be held at Spirit Rock in Marin County. Please contact them for pricing and registration information. Marcy can be reached by email at or by phone at (831) 247-5617.
Private Sessions
Private individual sessions are available by appointment and are offered on a dana basis. For more information, contact Marcy by email at or by phone at (831) 247-5617.
